Our goal is to turn urban food deserts into sustainable food forests, starting with our own backyard. We are converting our lawn into an edible sanctuary. It will not only provide food for our local community, but provide habitat for birds, bees, earthworms and more.
Permaculture is the development of agricultural ecosystems intended to be sustainable and self-sufficient. Our goal is not only to practice permaculture in the garden, but to demonstrate a model of sustainable self-empowerment for people everywhere.
We never use pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. We create and nurture complex ecosystems, and get sustenance from nature's abundance.
Our goal is to be able to fund our charitable giving and other activities through the sale of produce and food products created at the farm.
In addition to food that we distribute directly to impoverished people in our neighborhood, 20% of our proceeds are donated to the local food bank.
